Fruit Fly Ninja can be used by food companies without any restrictions. The new 2016 HACCP hygiene code was implemented in April, but a few aspects of it might be confusing with respect to fly lamps and traps.
While fly lamps can pose some problems to food companies, Fruit Fly Ninja does not have any of these problems with respect to flexible choice of location, effectiveness and aesthetics, among other things. We asked for an official statement from the independent agency behind the new hygiene code, which must be observed by all food companies in the Netherlands.
"The new 2016 hygiene code, contains no restrictions regarding fruit fly traps. The only restriction listed in the new code regarding flying insects is the prohibition of electrocution lamps in food preparation areas.
Your product [Fruit Fly Ninja] is completely non-dangerous and contains non-toxic, organic ingredients. It can be used freely to get rid of fruit flies.”
